New Cleveland company gets federal approval to produce ventilators during coronavirus pandemic
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a new ventilator for coronavirus patients produced by a new Cleveland company called SecondBreath LLC, U.S. Sen. Rob Portman said Tuesday.”
Portman said the company consists of several local manufacturers that don’t usually make products related to ventilators, which “engaged their engineers and their manufacturing process people several weeks ago when they saw there was a need” to design a ventilator. They worked with local hospitals including the Cleveland Clinic and Akron Children’s Hospital to test the new product, said Portman. The local manufacturers are part of Dan T. Moore Company.
